No license? No Problem.

It turns out that Michael A. Watson, an in-house lawyer at the New York Life Insurance Co. since 1996, was not licensed to practice law. Mr. Watson, 44, had just been promoted to first vice president and deputy general counsel. New York Life would not discuss how the company was alerted, saying only that Mr. Watson resigned immediately.
